In 2011, Habtec concluded the execution of the Environmental Education and Training Program for the Areas around the Ilha Comprida and Ilha Redonda Waterway Terminal and the GLP Transference Pipeline, a Petrobras Project.
The Program had the goal of bringing awareness to the workers involved in the installation and operation of the Project, students, fishermen and local communities, developing responsible attitudes in relation to the preservation of natural resources, environmental balance and economic sustainability.
Lasting 2 years and involving 1,178 workers and 935 community members, the Program allowed for articulation between various local social groups, promoting partnership between localities and interaction between the Project and the communities as well as promoting income generation and developing local environment-related projects.
